INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN PROJECT 2021
Support an anglophone rural orphanage 

The Cameroonian Youth Association is extremely grateful to the each and everyone who supported them tremously during all the phases of this project. Your wholesome donations, advice has gone a long way to helping the less priviledged. We hope that the information and summary contained on this posts will be useful for encouring more future projects like this as well as the creation of newer initiatives to give back. 

Mission

La mission de l'Opération Enfant de Noël est de fournir l'amour de Dieu de manière tangible aux enfants dans le besoin du monde entier et, avec l'église locale du monde entier, de partager la Bonne Nouvelle de Jésus-Christ. Franklin Graham dirige une équipe pour livrer des boîtes à chaussures Operation Christmas Child aux garçons et aux filles en Bosnie en 1995.

COLLECTION

   PHASE 1: COLLECTION

This project began with members of the Cameroonian Youth Association of Calgary, requesting the donation of clothings from their friends and families in their respective city of Calgary. Families with kids who had a collection of stored clothes played a major role in allowing us collect their bags of clothes. Members drove to the homes of each and every individual who had anything to donate. The clothes were then stored at the various individual member homes while awaiting the day they will be sorted

                 PHASE 2: SORTING AND PACKING

On July 30th 2021, Available members of the Cameroonian Youth Association assembled at Prairie Winds Park, located in the NE area of Calgary, Alberta Canada for the sorting of the donated clothings received from family and friends in support of their first humanitarian act. Clothes of all ages and gender were collected and sorted by type; pants, top, hoodies, sweaters, vest, etc. The sorted clothes were then folded and packed into two drums and delivered to the shipping destination. Left over clothes were kept for future projects, while some were donated and the Drop in Center located in Downtown Calgary, AB.

SORTING

 We want to say a big thank you to every single individual or family that supported us during this project. Also, a go fund me was created to receive financial assistance for the shipping of both barrels to Buea and Bamenda where they will be dropped at their respective orphanages. A Partnership was also signed with youth led non profit based in Buea to act as our representatives, more about this can be read here

PHASE 3: DELIVERY

 

SOUTHWEST

On the 23rd of December 2021, members of the imotivate Cameroon team travelled to Saint Joseph orphanage in Bokova, SW, Cameroon. This sunny day, 3 members of the immotivate Cameroon team visited the orphanage with one of the contains of one of the shipped barrels transfered into a "Ghana must go" bag. Thanks to the generous donations of our members, in addition to the bag of clothes, we also provided funds for the purchasing of 2 bags of rice, a bag of salt, groundnut oil, tissues, a box of potatoes, a bottles of sweet drinks to make their christmas a memorable one for the 27 ophans present at Saint Joseph.

PHASE 3: DELIVERY

NORTHWEST

On the 28th of December 2021, memebers of the immotivate cameroon travelled from Buea to Bamenda to drop off the second clothing barrel. After several communication we had with the orphanage's general manager, we were informed of the building project of a new home for the orphans after they got an eviction notice from the lanlord of the place they previously called home. With the generous donation of a piece of land from the chief of Mankon, they needed all the help they could get to complete the structure. Thanks to the generous donations of our members, we were able to assist them with 19 bags of cement
